Lower 9th Ward, New OrleansBrad Pitt's "Make It Right" project was launched with a December 3, 2007 announcement, marked by the unveiling of 150 bright pink structures the size of real houses erected throughout the project site. Interspersed among the pink structures where nine solar arrays each producing 5 kW of solar electric power. Many solar and renewable energy companies across Louisiana and the United States, including Cat Dancing Energy, volunteered their time to install these arrays. The PV installations were coordinated through Solar Electric Light Fund (SELF).
Beach Residence, Denver Metro areaThis is a modest 1000 sq. ft. home in the Denver metro area with an asphalt shingle roof, with an installation of a 1.6 kW solar electricity array on its south facing roof, flush mount. Accounting for the mild shading from the nearby trees, this installation is projected to produce about 1850 kWh of electricity each year. That is approximately 80% of the household's annual electricity consumption. System design by Starfire Energy.
